DEACONS/PASTOR are in need of gas/food cards to be used for people who have to travel to and from Hospitals. We have run out of cards at this point and would like to have some available for emergency use. CHILD PROTECTION TEAM (CPT): The Child Protection Team (CPT) will have 4 annual training classes for the 2019 year. All volunteer that will be working with children must attend one class and sign a Covenant. The dates are: Saturday, October 27th at 9 a.m., Saturday, October 27th at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 15th at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 6th at 7 p.m. These are the only classes that will be offered and must be attended by everyone that will, in anyway, be volunteering with children. Sign-up sheets will be on the table in back of the church beginning in October. Also, several members need to renew their certifications this year. The CPT will notify those persons to complete forms at the end of church services on Sunday, August 12th & 19th, in the classroom behind the balcony. Any fees will be paid by the church and the forms will be sent in a single mailing by the CPT. The State Police clearance is mailed to the church. The Child Abuse clearance is mailed to your home, a copy of that clearance must be given to the CPT. If there are any members who would like to volunteer in any capacity and does not have clearances, please come during these dates to complete the forms and sign up for an annual training class.

SOLES 4 SOULS: The Witness Commission is participating in a mission to collect shoes of all types and sizes (no high heels please) to be donated to several countries around the world. Abby Fohringer spoke to a group of people in Juniata County about her goal of collecting 15,000 “soles” by end of this year to reach her goal of 25,000 and to visit one of the countries where these shoes will be delivered in 2019. Totes will be located at entrance of the church and the side door. If you are willing to donate some of your slightly worn shoes, I ask that you rubber band them together in pairs for easy sorting. Contact Kathy Stimely if you have any questions. Thank you!
