Any child who leaves the sanctuary during worship service must be accompanied by a parent.  We request this to comply with Child Protection laws.




CHILD PROTECTION TEAM (CPT):  Pastor Randy and the CPT have set dates for the annual training which is a requirement for all persons wishing to work or in any way be involved with children or disable adults in church or during church activity or projects.  The dates are Tuesday, Oct. 29th at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 9th at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 19th at 7 p.m. Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex.  Please review the available dates and sign-up for the class that is convenient for you.  NO OTHER DATES will be offered.  If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Randy or Carol Laughlin or another CPT member.

THE WITNESS COMMISSION will be having a potluck lunch on November 10 after Sunday School. Potluck means whatever you all bring is what we eat!! Rolls and drinks will be provided. The Siford's will be here to share their work with the Disciple makers. Please come.


FREE COMMUNITY BRUNCH: will be on Saturday, November 16th – 10:30 a.m. – Noon. Here at Pine Glen. (The third Saturday of the month) We are hoping to bring area youth and the community together for this brunch.  Devon Sharp and Aaron Miller will be bringing local youth to the brunch.


CHRISTMAS SHOE-BOX PROJECT: A sheet will be placed on the table in the Narthex for items needed to finish 70 shoeboxes.  Thank you for your continued donations, Sarah Esh.          


CHURCH DIRECTORY 2020: I’m working on the Directory for next year, I will be needing any new or updated names, addresses, phone numbers, email address. Any one that has any changes, please email Jenn at [email protected], call the church office 717-899-6297, or text or call my cell 717-513-5993. Deadline is November 3rd.


KITCHEN INSPECTION AND LICENSE:  The church kitchen committee is working to have the kitchen and adjoining room inspected and licensed.  We are in the process of completing a Non-Mobile Temporary Food License application.  The congregation will be seeing changes made to various areas in and around both kitchen rooms. We ask for your patience as we prepare for this inspection.  When using the kitchen area, please take care to return all items where you retrieved them, all take-out containers must be covered or turned upside down and leave the kitchen in order.  This license is for non-profit organizations. It is a 14-month calendar year license.  This license will allow our facility to serve food to the public.


2020 JOB DUTY CALENDAR: The 2020 schedule for the job duty calendar is in progress.  If you held a volunteer position for the Sunday morning worship service and no longer wish to volunteer your time for one hour a week, please notify Susie McCarl, Bonnie Harshbarger or Carol Laughlin for ushers, child monitor, nursery and preschool classrooms, side door greeters and Church Garden.  All other duties, please contact the person in charge of that particular position; Morning Worship Leader, Children's Story and Junior Church.  January schedule will be the same as 2019.  A copy of the duty calendar will be in every volunteer's mailbox upon completion and the monthly volunteer duties will be in the newsletter and on the website.  Also, a reminder that any position that involves children and/or disabled adults must complete the annual CPT training classes conducted by Pastor Randy.  The dates for the classes are provided in another announcement.

SAVE THE DATE - JANUARY 25, 2020.  Sometime in early or mid-November Sharon McDonald, Med, RD, LDN, Senior Extension Educator/Food Safety Specialist from The Pennsylvania State University will be sending flyers for marketing a "Cooking for Crowds" workshop that Pine Glen Church of the Brethren will be hosting.  A snow date of Saturday, February 1, 2020 has also been reserved.  We are asking anyone within our church who will be working in the kitchen or with food for the congregation or public to plan on attending this workshop.  Please encourage other non-profit groups in our area; community or county, to attend this half day workshop.  Ms. McDonald will do a press release to the local paper and a general mailing to a list of non-profit organizations in our and surrounding counties.  Interested persons may register online or call an 800 number.  (Our church will have a sign-up sheet in the Narthex closer to the date.)  Pine Glen COB's cost will be $50 for as many members that attend. Each group will receive one copy of the Cooking for Crowds manual, one thermometer, posters and other materials of the pertaining to the organization.   Other groups will pay $50 for four people, any one from the group attending over that number will be an additional $5 charge.  Individuals may register for $25 and receive the materials.  Light refreshments will be served - coffee, tea, water, pastries, etc.


HARVEST BASKETS will be in the entryway to share excess produce with the congregation. Please bring your extra veggies to share or take from the basket and enjoy fresh produce from the garden.
